Best described as a cyberpunk cinematic hacking simulation, Colorful Darkness is a single player, narrative adventure game for desktop.
Colorful Darkness started as a game jam challenge between two programmers, who decided to design a hacking game that would be actually challenging and rewarding for IT-savvy people.
Back then, the plot was like "you play as Lisbeth Salander in Blade Runner or The 5th Element".
Initially the game was going to be a point-and-click, but soon it became clear it had potential for being more than this. We like to call it “cinematic platformer” now, whatever that means.
Our vision is to provide a gameplay experience where hacking feels realistic if you’re into cybersecurity, and wrap it inside a cocoon of strong emotions delivered by a powerful narrative. (Source: presskit)
